Search a place or use your location to see live weather and the forecast.
Is it about to rain? A minute-by-minute rain forecast for the next 2 hours, in 15-minute steps — taller bars mean heavier rain.
How today's weather and air quality could affect your health, and what it's good for outdoors — every rating below is computed locally from temperature, humidity, pressure, wind, UV, precipitation chance and air quality, not a medical or professional service.
Precipitation radar for the last ~2 hours. Shows the latest scan by default — press play to watch how it moved; it plays through once and stops, it doesn't loop. (A free, tile-based air-quality map layer isn't available anywhere — only point readings, shown in the Health tab — so only precipitation is offered here.)

theClimate is a free, private, 100% client-side weather app: live conditions and a forecast for your current location or any place on Earth, entirely in your browser. There's no account, no server, and nothing you search or your location is ever sent anywhere this site controls.
Does this app track my location?
No. theClimate is a static page with no backend and no analytics tied to your location. If you tap "Use my location," your browser's own Geolocation API gives coordinates directly to your device, used only to fetch weather data and, once, to look up a place name — nothing is logged or sent anywhere this site controls.
Why does it need location permission?
Only to fetch the weather for where you actually are, if you choose "Use my location." You can decline and search for any place by name instead — permission is never required to use the app.
Is theClimate free?
Completely — no sign-up, no ads, no tracking, no paid tier. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo's free, no-key API; that's a third-party service, so this site doesn't control its uptime or rate limits.
Can I check the weather somewhere I'm not?
Yes — search any place by name. If more than one place shares that name, you'll get a list to pick the right one from.
How does auto-refresh work, and can I turn it off?
While this tab is open and visible, the forecast refreshes automatically every 15 minutes; it pauses the instant you switch away or minimize the tab, and never runs at all when the site isn't open. The bolt toggle in the footer turns it off entirely, leaving only the manual Refresh button.
Are the alerts official government warnings?
No. There's no free, global severe-weather-alerts feed to plug into, so alerts here are derived from theClimate's own forecast data crossing a threshold (thunderstorm codes, extreme heat/cold, high UV, a high chance of heavy rain, poor air quality) — useful, but not a substitute for your local meteorological agency's official warnings. Every alert says so.
Can alerts notify me outside the tab?
Optionally — the bell toggle in the footer asks for your browser's notification permission and, once granted, pops a real OS-level notification for genuinely new alerts while this tab is open somewhere (even backgrounded). This is a 100%-static site with no server, so a true background notification while the browser itself is fully closed isn't technically possible — that would need a server to trigger it, which no static site can do honestly.
Where does the radar map and location search data come from?
The radar map uses RainViewer's free radar tiles over an OpenStreetMap base map. Location search also checks OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoder alongside Open-Meteo's, which is what lets it find small localities and tolerate typos that Open-Meteo alone would miss.
